Thursday, March 8, 2018 As well, student-led efforts at the Mount focused on advancing gender equity include the MSVU Feminist Collective and an upcoming conference featuring women in politics being organized by student leaders from the Mount and other institutions in recognition of the 100th anniversary of women’s right to vote in Nova Scotia (though notably not all women – a topic that will be explored at the event).
CONFERENCE CELEBRATES WOMEN IN POLITICS, PLANS FOR AN INCLUSIVE NEW CENTURY
(Halifax, N.S.) March 8, 2018 – On April 22, 2018, young leaders will gather to honour the centennial date of some women gaining the right to vote in Nova Scotia and plan to finally break the glass ceiling for all women in the next century. Women in Politics: 100 Years in Progress is a multi-partisan day-long conference that will explore how the next generation of political leaders can work together to achieve full inclusion and equity in politics in the next century.
