Your Students’ Union Hub is located in the lobby of the Rosaria Student Centre next to Students’ Union offices. It provides students with a variety of services and information that will aid you in an enriching campus experience! Services: printing/photocopying, fax, paper, lamination, binding/transparencies, 3-hole punching/stapling/isic cards/outgoing mail (already stamped), All Information & Directions. The HUB offers students the lowest printing and copying prices on campus at just 5 cents per b/w copy or print and offers the only fax service on the MSVU campus.
The Crows Nest *
The Crows Nest is the Students’ Unions 24 hour student computer lounge on campus. It is the only 24 hour computer lounge on the MSVU campus. The Crows Nest is located on the main floor of the Rosaria SUB directly attached to the Crow 'N Go Cafe.
The Crow 'n Go *
The perfect place to grab a coffee and a snack. The Crow 'N Go is both a cafe and convenience snack bar located in the Rosaria Student Union Building across from Vinnies Pub & Student Lounge. Daily specials and yummy food, the Crow ‘n Go has: smoothies, wraps, veggies & dip, pita & dips, yogurt parfaits, soups, pizza by the slice, breakfast sandwiches, and much more! The Crow 'n Go also offers a very affordable line of MSVU clothing and merchandise.
Vinnies Pub & Student Lounge *
Vinnie’s Pub & Lounge is your on-campus, Students’ Union operated Pub and Student Lounge serving the Mount community. As a student lounge Vinnies opens first thing in the morning all day long with free pool for students to hang out, meet and relax in. Vinnies offers a full food and drink menu to satisfy your hunger and thirst. Vinnies is a WET/DRY space making it always possible for MSVU students under the age of 19 to attend all events. Vinnie’s is located on the main floor of the MSVU Rosaria Student Center and offers free wifi making it the perfect spot for your society or group meetings, studying or hanging with friends. Vinnies has one of the only campus pub patios in Atlantic Canada and ready for you to enjoy. Vinnie’s also provides nightly programming including trivia nights, live music, bingo, comedy, karaoke, DJ’s, dance parties and more! Vinnies can be booked for Society events, birthday parties and gatherings and can help students with their fundraising efforts. Pride Centre *
We offer our Mount students and Mount community support via resources, campus campaigns and events. We are open Mondays – Fridays with varying hours and are located in room 111A of the Rosaria SUB, just inside the Crows Nest Computer Lounge.
Fountain Play Centre *
The Fountain Play Centre (FPC) is a subsidized child care service. The Fountain Play Centre is not a full-day day care service. The FPC provides childcare service for children of Mount Saint Vincent University students while they attend class.
SU Board Room *
The MSVUSU Board Room is a new student dedicated space operated by the MSVUSU.
Student groups can book out the board room for meetings, presentation prep, interviews etc. The room comes equipped with a 60″ Smart TV with ceiling speakers making it a great space for presentations. There is no cost to book the room but groups are responsible for the cleanliness of the room and and broken or damaged items.
Welcome Centre *
Front-line service for information and service from the MSVUSU. Overseen by the Vice President Communications, run by student employees.
Tutor Database *
You can search for eligible tutors by faculty/program, by the tutors name or by course name/number. Please be advised that although we search rigorously for capable tutors, there is no guarantee that we will have tutors available for all programs.
You can also search for students who are willing to be note takers in your classes should you have that need.
IMPORTANT: It is the responsibility of the student to arrange instruction from tutors and negotiate tutor rates. Rates of pay are typically based on level of education. Tutoring is a contract between the student and tutor. All services delivered are a contract between the student and their service provider. Payment arrangement and/or dispute is the responsibility of the involved parties and does not involve MSVU or the MSVU Students’ Union.
Transfer Student Centre *
Our goal is to provide perspective, new and current MSVU transfer students with an online resource to help transfer students transition to their new home at MSVU. This page is designed to help you navigate the various areas of academic and student life by providing direct links and contacts to the information you need. It is also a place to help transfer students connect directly with both the Students’ Union and the university.
Wellness Centre *
The Mount Wellness Centre and Food Bank is a service of the Mount Students’ Union and provides Mount students with a variety of services, information & resources. The Wellness Centre features a resource library, which brochures, books and CDs on a variety of topics, such as: Contraception – Eating Disorders – Sexually Transmitted Infections – Mental Health – Sexual Health – Multiculturalism – Sexual Orientation – Human Rights – Violence against Women. We also have free condoms and lube, courtesy of Planned Parenthood of Halifax. The Wellness Centre is a proud member of Planned Parenthood Federation of Canada, Halifax Clinic.
Wellness Pantry *
The Wellness Pantry is staffed by a student manager and by student volunteers. Due to class schedules, it may not always be possible for the Pantry to be open. Please check hours of operations regularly and contact the Centre to confirm opening times.
Used Textbook Fair *
In September and January of each Academic year, the Used Textbook Fair is YOUR chance to sell your used textbooks at the price you want. You can try and sell your textbooks OR you can come to the Fair and see if any textbooks you need are for sale!
Health and Dental Plan *
The MSVU Students’ Union operates a health and dental plan available to full-time undergraduate students attending MSVU. Students who already have health and/or dental coverage through another plan have the option of opting out of the MSVU plans. Opt-Outs must be completed prior to the set deadline to be granted reimbursement.
UTXT is a text messaging program to provide a stronger, instantaneous communication stream with Mount students. With one number…(902) 809-MSVU (6788)…students can text questions and receive instant responses.
