Fountain Playcentre
The Fountain Play Centre (FPC) is a subsidized child care service. The Play Centre is not a day care service. The FPC child care service Mount Saint Vincent University Students while they attend class.
The FPC is open to all children of Mount students, however:
- enrolment is limited and offered on a first come first serve basis
- care is only offered to children from 1-5 years old
- children can only be supervised at the Play Centre while the parent(s) are in their scheduled classes
The Fountain Play Centre seeks to create a fun and safe learning environment. The FPC is equipped with a nursery, children’s bathroom with a change table, many toys, educational games and tools, arts and crafts supplies, music. We plan many parties and events throughout the school year such as our Annual Kid’s Carnival.
The FPC is staffed by Programming Manager, an Operations Manager and a dedicated team of volunteers. All staff are trained with Emergency First Aid Level C and CPR and have been checked by the Child Abuse Registry.
The Fountain Play Centre operates at subsidized pricing to offer Mount students this service at only $3.00/hr/child.

Volunteering
Students interested in volunteering should print out and complete the form below and return it to the Fountain Play Centre in the Rosaria Student Centre, Room 113 (behind the Crow’s Nest).
The FPC greatly appreciates their student volunteers and would be unable to operate without them. The FPC seeks to offer a fun and rewarding volunteer experience. Volunteering can also be a great way to build your resume as well helps many students when applying to other Colleges and Universities.
